MISS ME?

Wow, to say "it's been a while" is an understatement.  It's been 22 days since we've last spoken.

I apologize! It's too late to apologize...toooo laaaaaaate....

And HELLO new website!!! I have my own domain and it makes me super giddy & jump up and down. I am not kidding :)

Really though - we've been busy! Mr. Shiksa and I are moving to our LOVELY new loft I told you about last month.

Once we are settled in and I am not attending baby showers, co-hosting a bridal shower [for my dear friend and bride-to-be, Sarah], a trip to Colorado in May - I will be back to blogging on a regular basis. I have some great posts up my sleeve and really look forward to building this site some more!

Much love! I leave you with this; Max helping momma say hello!

Blueberry Almond Pancackes

adapted from Bobby Deen's recipe.

I am not particularly a pancake person. I prefer french toast any day. And waffles? Eggo is the way to go for me.

But when I came across this not-so-bad-for-you blueberry almond pancake recipe from the lovely Bobby Deen, I thought I would take it on in the kitchen and present Mr. Shiksa with a delicious (hopefully) weekend breakfast.

From Massholes to Rhode Islanders...

Yes, I did actually just say (type) that. No need to adjust and recheck your screens.

Mr. Shiksa and I have decided to leave our outdated townhouse just south of Boston and move south o' the border to RI at the end of April! We really struggled with deciding what to do when our current lease was up at the end of June this summer. Not many places in the area we are now rent for equal to or less than what we pay per month now, including pet rent fees, for the space we have (2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, 2 floors, washer/dryer in unit). We knew we had to look further outside the city suburbs, and we were okay with that. We also had to keep in mind that our commute (together) to work in RI is about 40 minutes, and we were ready to cut that down a bit.

Guess Who I Met??

(anyone who is my FB friend or follows me on Twitter already knows...)

REE DRUMMOND! The Pioneer Woman herself!

Who Needs St. Patrick's Day for Car Bomb Brownies?

Not this gal!

I wanted to share with you the delicious desert I made, a la THIS recipe from Baked with Love and Butter, albeit a tad late.

My First (Sorta) Feature!

Baby steps...

I've had my first feature link on a blog that I follow! Shelley over at Cooking & Living It Up On A Ground Beef Budget was asking her blogosphere buddies to send her links about traveling in their local areas.

Are You a Lover or a Hater?

I've been a bit preoccupied lately! Last week I was in California for work, and the week previous building up to that was for prepping. Who needs a week to prep for travel? This girl.

What do I do for work? Well, thank you for asking ;) Most of you who read my blog know, but I can give a quick run-down to make it easier for those who don't. I am the Senior Account Manager at a small custom retail and exhibit display company in Rhode Island. We have 2 main divisions - retail and exhibits. We design, fabricate, manage, and execute store fixtures (sometimes entire stores) as well as trade show booths for conventions, press events, meetings, etc. In a nutshell, I have my hands in a little of all of that and I primarily work in the trade show industry. It was an easy transition here from my previous job in Boston at the two convention centers were I was an AM for the in-house audio visual company. I was on the other side of the industry though; working with and providing for the exhibitors and meeting planners in the action of it all at shows. I currently am involved before and up to the show for my clients. I guess you could say I am a natural and perpetual planner and preparer, personally and professionally. Fits me to a T!

Monday MUSTS! New projects for the New Year

Now that the wedding planning is over, and I have my life back, I get a chance to try some new things or pick up old hobbies that I enjoyed before wedding bells were all I heard.

1. Photography
I am by no means trying to make this a profession. I just enjoy taking photos, and would really love to learn more about it. It thrills me to snap away, look through them with my husband, and share them with all of you, my family and friends. I feel more comfortable shooting food and still life, but I'd like to learn more about portraits and shooting people.

Ok people, not shooting shooting people. 'Lights, camera, action' shooting. Don't need to get your panties all up in a bunch.

RI Food Tour Winter 2012 - NUMERO DOS

Last time on the tour, we left off at Olneyville NY System for wieners...  and as though we didn't sample enough RI food yet, we trudged on.
